Our Location

The orchard is about halfway between Alexandra and Clyde in the Earnscleugh valley. As such it enjoys a micro-climate that is well suited for fruit growing.

Although suffering from sometimes severe frosts in Winter and Spring the majority of the blocks have frost-fighting sprinklers that alleviate the worst of these frosts.

The area only receives an average of 340mm of rain per annum so we are heavily dependant on the local Earnscleugh Irrigation Scheme for our water supply.

Summer temperatures can reach the high 30's C so workers need to be aware of the necessity to cover-up and shade from the strong sun.
